I'm currently reading the new Alex Rider novel, Crocodile Tears, by Anthony Horowitz. I'm enjoying the story quite a bit, it's written sort of from the narrators and partly from Alex's point of view. The language is descriptive, yet relatively easy to read. The characters are well developed and realistic. I like Alex because he's a likeable and kind character, the only thing thats slightly unrealistic is how he always gets lucky and gets out of sticky situations just in time, but if that didn't happen, it wouldn't be Alex Rider! One of the main themes was deja vu as Alex keeps having to go back to MI6 and so you also know sort of whats going to happen, but not to much so it's tedious. The settings are described very well, but sometimes the author convieniently misses out bits of the scenery and uses them later.
Overall, I would give it a 8/10 because it's enjoyable, exciting and unique.
